Well, that was more time away than I intended. I'm still wrestling with what I want this site to be, and how I want it to be set up.

But I've also been more present in my life. Some beautiful conversations with Chef, as we think about what the next couple of years might look like and what we want from our life - and how to get it.

First up, is surviving these last months before the wedding in the full of winter. It's nine months away now. Fortunately, we have the large stuff covered: the venue, the guest list, the dress, the cake, and flowers. The save-the-dates have been sent. We are well on the way to the caterer and officiant.

My tips for surviving winter:
- find a hot beverage you love, and drink it often (I just discovered DAVIDsTEA which should take up all winter to find my favourite).
- get out of the house often (even just a short walk)
- cozy up in some blankets with movies, when you just can't bear to go outside
- spend time with friends in town
- call or write to out-of-town friends...concentrate on what's going on with them, rather than your weather woes
- dress warm with layers you love! (my scarf and mittens make me happy)
- try to get outside at noon when it is light out, as the sun sets early here
- if you live in a remote area like I do, get out of town for a bit!
